Al
Tomooh Finance Scheme at Al Doha Conference.
Mr. Sulaiman Al Mazroui, Chief Manager, Emirates Bank Group and
The Executive Member of the Supreme Committee of Al Tomooh, Salah
Mohd Amin-TMH Manager, Amal Moustafa, TMH Coordinator participated
at the conference held on 04th,March, 2002 till 06th March, 2002
in Doha, Qatar, at the Sheraton Hotel.
Mr. Al Mazroui was one of the speakers at the conference titled
" The Complementary Role for the Non-governmental, Governmental
And International Organizations in the Permanent Development"
Al
Mazroui pointed out that the initiative, aimed at instilling confidence
among nationals and is already yielding results: "30 projects
have already been financed and operational in Dubai, with more to
come. These are engaged in various businesses and industrial activities.
He explained that the scheme is designed to support small National
businesses. The interest-free for the first three years, with repayments
to only start in the second year, and extendable up to eight years.
Most Government and semi-Government Institutions have waived Fees
and other expenses as a gesture of their support for such a pioneering
initiative.
Around 20 speakers participated at this Conference, which was attended
by more than 300 delegates of 52 Islamic countries.
Al Tomooh also participated at the exhibition, which was inaugurated
at the same time by H.H. Shaikha Mouza Bint Nasir Al Mesanad the
Wife of H.H. The Emir of Qatar, who showed great interest in the
Al Tomooh Scheme as regional Experiment.
The conference included subjects related to the development of the
Non-governmental organizations in the region. It highlighted the
cooperation between Government and Non-Governmental Institutions
in socio-development in the Arab and Islamic World.
