|
Al
Tomooh Supreme Committee meeting has been held on 16 October 2002,
to review Al Tomooh's achievements since has been started and put
together future strategy and development plans for the scheme.
H.E.Ahmed Humaid Al Tayer ,The Chairman of Al Tomooh SC, H.E. Abdul
Rahman Al Mutwaiee (SCM), H.E. Mohd Bin Ali Al Abbar (SCM), Mr.
Sulaiman Al Mazroui (SCM), Mr. Abdulwahid Al Fahim (GM), Mr. Salah
Mohd Amin (TMH MGR), Mr. Bassam Daoud (CRD MGR) and Amal Moustafa
(TMH Coordinator) were present at the meeting.
7 new projects have been approved during the meeting, to be financed
by Al Tomooh:
Real Estate Management Company
Dr.Jamal Al Mehairi (UAE) and Mr. Adel Ghafa Al Basti (UAE) are
the owners of the project, and were graduated together from UAE
University.
After
receiving his degree in Architecture, Adel took his first job with
the Dubai Municipality and worked there for over ten years as head
of executive planning section, before joining Dubai Airport Free
Zone as Director of Technical Dept. in 2000.
Dr.
Jamal holds a Phd. in Geography and acts as the Under Secretary
of Ministry of Education and Youth. With both individuals being
engaged in real estate management and transactions on a personal
level, they decided to form a partnership, and start a real estate
management company in Dubai. They both will continue with their
professional occupations, but will recruit a team of professionals
to execute the day activities of the business under their direct
supervision.
The
basic activity of the company is providing property management consulting,
Al though, property management would be the cornerstone of their
activities, they will also provide brokerage services (buying &
selling land), maintenance, cleaning & security services. They
enjoy good market reputation and command excellent relations with
both government entities and prospective clients.
MR.Repair
Mr. Siddiqui Syed Mustafa Hassan Al Marzouqi (UAE) is the owner
of the project After graduating from High School, he moved to Saudi
and worked there for several years in the sales and marketing field.
After careful evaluation of alternative business opportunities,
he decided to establish his own maintenance services company. He
intends to devote all his expertise, time effort to the success
of the business.
The
basic activity of the company is providing household and building
maintenance services, which encompass areas like A/c, TV, VCR repair,
Pluming and electrical repair services etc. Their target market
will be to focus on homeowners and tenants, who reside in Jumairah
& Umm Sequim area. They are considered to competitive. All revenues
will be in cash basis.
Emirates E- Business
Mr.
Waleed Rashid Al Baker (UAE) is the owner of the project, graduated
from HCT with a Bachelor Degree in Business Information Technology
Systems in 1994. After graduation, he joined Dubai Courts, Information
Systems Dept., and worked there for three years as an analyst programmer.
In July 1997, he joined Dubai Police as manager of software development
team. Concurrently, he studied towards his MBA degree from the university
of Wallongong in Dubai and graduated in 1999 (He is now preparing
for PhD. in Transformation E-Government, the case of Dubai). He
continues to work for Dubai Police and presently holds the position
of Head of R&D, E-services Dept. Through his work experience,
he managed to develop a wide network of confident relationships
with both government and private entities.
The
promoter's rationale in setting up this Training Center venture
was prompted by market research, which he conducted. The scope of
his research comprised market contacts in ascertaining interests
of government and private entities to train their employees. The
research revealed that Dubai is changing fast and in order to cope
with the fast paced change, both government and private entities
need to continuously train their staff, which will assist in transforming
human capital into human assets.
Mr.
Al Baker also learnt that although competition exists, there is
scope for more players to enter the market. The results of his research
proved encouraging, which let him to pursue this project.
The
main activity of the center will revolve around various activities
and services offered to corporate/ government entities and private
individual. The center will offer/conduct around 60 courses every
year, which cover subjects like management, marketing, finance and
IT..etc. The center will provide consultancy services to their clients
in the field of management and IT consultancy. The center will also
entertain private conferences relating to the latest development
in IT (E-Commerce) in its own conference room.
Al Thuraya Laboratory
Dr.Badreya Abdulla Al Zarooni (UAE) graduated from UAE University
with a Bachelor degree in Chemistry in 1996. In 2000, she joined
Kuwaiti Hospital in Sharjah as a lab technician.
The
promoter's rationale in setting up this venture (advanced medical
lab) was prompted by a market survey. The scope of the survey comprised
market information and contacts in ascertaining demand for advanced
'medical lab services', from which they learnt that specialized/advanced
tests are presently being forwarded/conducted in medical labs stationed
overseas, mainly in Western Europe.
The lab will be targeting private clinics in Dubai, given that most
public and private hospitals maintain their own labs.
The
basic activity of the Medical Lab will be to provide quality medical
lab services to private clinics in Dubai. Generally speaking, medical
tests performed by them will be categorized into three types; Basic
tests, which will embrace simple blood and urine tests, Medium tests,
which will include blood sugar test, cholesterol, and advanced tests,
which encompass specialized tests in the field of genetics and hormones,
which require very advanced type of equipment and highly experienced
staff.
Printing Press
Mr.Hussain Fuad Sajwani (UAE) graduated in 1987 from High School
and took his first job at Middle East Bank - Dubai, where he started
out as a trainee and worked there for one year. Then he joined Barclays
Bank and worked there in different departments from 1989 until early
1996 and proved himself as a professional banker as he worked his
way up to management level.
In
1995, he decided to venture on his own and started M/s. Al Diyafah
Trading Est. (DT), a company engaged in the supply of printing related
products and services. At present, DT is outsourcing these products
from various printing presses operating in Dubai and Sharjah. The
same are sold to private entities like Sharjah Airport Authority,
Shell Trading Middle East, National Bank of Umm Al Quwain &
Barclays Bank.
During
the last 7 years HS gained hands on experience in his line of business
and through his company DT has managed to penetrate the market in
his chosen line of business.
Sheikh
Ahmed Al Mur Mejren Sultan is an investing partner (50%) in this
venture. Whilst HS serves as the managing partner, Sheikh Ahmed
concentrates on his other business interests, which mainly encompass
real estate property in Dubai.
The
basic activity of the company will be that of printing press. They
intend to focus their services on printing seven products, which
include letterheads, business cards, brochures, leaflets, Invoices,
folders and Magazines.
Al Diyafah Tailoring
Mr.Mahmood Abdul Rahim Abdul Qader (UAE) graduated with a Bachelor
Degree in Accounting in 1989 from the Business School at the Saint
Edwards University, USA. Following his university graduation he
took his first job at the Emirates Airlines, where he started out
as a training officer and worked his way up to become Treasury and
taxation manager.
The
basic activity of the company is tailoring of national dress and
uniforms. Operations are mainly wholesale catering to hotels, hospitals
and government entities. The company presently holds 9 LPOs from
reputed corporate entities operating in Dubai. They include names
like Gulf Safa Dairies, Al Futtaim Tarmac, Dubai Municipality, Metropolitan
Hotel, etc.

Fashion
Mrs.Maimouna Al Dabal is (UAE), who has been employed with Ministry
of Education since 1985. She is presently working in the capacity
of Education Specialist.
The
promoter's rationale in setting up this venture (import and sale
of branded women's eveningwear) was prompted by market research,
which she conducted. The scope of her research comprised personal
contacts in ascertaining interests of women in buying quality, branded
eveningwear. The research revealed that Dubai is very well known
for it's weddings, parties and social gatherings, especially amongst
women, who are always interested in dressing up in the latest fashion
wear. MD also learnt that although competition exists, there is
scope for more players (especially a local enterprise whereby they
are able to understand the customs and culture) to enter the market.
The results of her research proved encouraging; which led her to
pursue this project.
The
company will offer a wide range of branded eveningwear dresses targeted
for women in the age group ranging from 20-50 years.
